INDEPENDENT LIVING SERVICES
Research now proves conclusively that most elder residents want to stay in their own homes or apartments as long as possible!
COA can help!
COA Independent Living Services provides fee-based and subsidized community programs that facilitate at-home, independent living for older adults. (60-plus)
Subsidized services are accessible through a variety of federal, state, county and community-based contracts or programs; they are contingent upon availability and eligibility. We will be happy to tell you about these services and how to access them.
Both our fee-based and subsidized services include care management, assistance with daily household chores, emergency home energy assistance, emergency alert response systems, homemaking, information and referral, personal care and respite care. To learn more, please call our Independent Living Services department at (904) 209-3700.
Prescription Assistance Program
Has the high cost of medications left you trying to decide which prescriptions you can afford?
If so, please call the Council On Aging, and learn how we may be able to help you receive free/lower cost medications. These reduced medication costs are offered through the pharmaceutical companies. If you are eligible, we will help you navigate the application process.
Since 2003, COA has been assisting seniors (55+ since 2016) take advantage of the Patient Assistance Programs offered through the pharmaceutical companies.
In recent years we have saved seniors over $3,000,000 per year!!
