Christmas on the River – A Gilded Age Holiday Benefit for COA’s Care Connection

Christmas on the River, a benefit for COA’s Care Connection program, on Sunday, November 24th 2024, was a great success! Attendees gathered with friends, old and new, and celebrated the start of the holiday season with heavy hors d’oeuvres, wine tasting, live music, and a charity auction at River House, COA’s exquisite events venue set on the Matanzas River in downtown St. Augustine. 

Best of all, their attendance helped fund the coming year for COA’s Care Connection program, which serves the needs of local elders for support services,  enabling them to continue to enjoy their independence at home where they are most comfortable. Care Connection is entirely funded through the generosity of supporters in the community and powered by the kindness of local volunteers. Without these critical services, seniors are often compelled by circumstances to enter assisted living when they would rather maintain their independence, privacy, and comfort in the place they call home.

What better way to ring in the St. Augustine holiday season and share the spirit of the holidays with elders in our community! 

Many thanks to all of our attendees, volunteers, and generous sponsors who made Christmas on the River possible! Thanks to your support, we were able to raise funds to support the work of our volunteer heroes from COA’s Care Connection program for the coming year. The many services the program provides, which are financed entirely by donations, will help seniors in our community continue to enjoy their indpendence at home, rather than be compelled to enter assisted living for lack of these services. You have our deepest gratitude for being there for our community’s elders during the holidays and all year long!
