Council on Aging joins Meals on Wheels America and Subaru of America, Inc. in Sharing the Love this Holiday Season

The 14th annual Subaru Share the Love® Event will help deliver nutritious meals and compassion to St. Johns County seniors.

Council on Aging (COA) is excited to announce its participation in the 2021 Subaru Share the Love Event as a member of Meals on Wheels America – one of four national Share the Love charitable partners supported through the campaign. From November 18, 2021, through January 3, 2022, Subaru of America will donate $250 for every new Subaru vehicle purchased or leased to the customer’s choice of participating charities.

“This annual event allows us to help more homebound elders to receive the Meals on Wheels they need,” said COA Executive Director Becky Yanni. “We are very excited to get the word out to members of our community about this opportunity to help local seniors in a very meaningful way.”

By purchasing or leasing a new Subaru during the Subaru Share the Love Event and selecting Meals on Wheels as your charity of choice, you can help deliver nutritious meals and other important services to seniors right here in St. Johns County.

Participating Meals on Wheels America members such as Council on Aging will receive a share of the donations raised by Subaru in their state. COA has partnered with Subaru of Jacksonville, 10800 Atlantic Blvd., Jacksonville, FL, to raise awareness for the popular year-end sales and giving event, and drive support for Meals on Wheels. Members of the Subaru of Jacksonville team also plan to join COA Meals on Wheels drivers in delivering meals, pet food, newspapers, and welcome visits to local seniors.

Over the last 13 years, Subaru of America and its participating retailers have donated more than $200 million to its charity partners. This year’s Subaru Share the Love Event is on track to bring that total to over $225 million, proving there’s no limit to the amount of love we can all share.

Council on Aging has been serving seniors and caregivers in St. Johns County since 1973. The nonprofit organization provides programs and services that help seniors manage the challenges of everyday life so that they may enjoy quality of life in their own homes for as long as possible.
